Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Group. Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services

Didier Valet was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Group in January 2017, in addition to his role as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services.

He started his career as an Analyst within the Economic and Financial Research Department of Banque Indosuez and then joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as Equity Research Analyst. In 2000, he was appointed Head of Societe Generale Securities' European Banking Research team and then became Head of Investor Relations of Societe Generale. Didier was appointed Head of Strategic Performance Management in 2007 and then went on to become Chief Financial Officer in 2008.
In January 2012, Didier was appointed Head of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, and became Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services in February 2013.


Didier is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique (ENSAE). He also received a diploma from Société Française des Analystes Financiers (SFAF).

Christophe Mianné was appointed Deputy Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services in february 2013. Priviously, he was Deputy CEO of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, since January 2012.

Christophe Mianné joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1988 in the sales department of the derivatives group and was later the Head of Financial Engineering until 1992 when he was appointed Head of Sales & Marketing for Equity Derivatives. In 1996 he became Deputy Head of the division and was appointed Global Head of Equity Derivatives in 1999. In 2007 he was appointed Head of the Global Equities & Derivatives Solutions division. Christophe Mianné then became the Head of the Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions and the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities divisions in February 2009, and  Head of Global Markets in July the same year. He has been a member of the Société Générale Group Management Committee since July 2001 and is also the Chairman of the Board of Lyxor Asset Management.

Pierre Palmieri has been appointed Head of Global Finance as of 3 January 2012. He was previously Deputy Head of Global Finance (formerly Capital Raising and Financing) since April 2008. Prior to that, he was Global co-Head of Natural Resources and Energy Financing.

Pierre Palmieri began his career at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1987 in the Export Finance department. Then he took the responsibility for a finance engineering team. In 1994 he joined the commodities finance team and was appointed Global Head of Structured Commodity finance in 2001. His responsibilities were broadened in 2003 to include the mining sector and again in 2005 to include trade finance activities. Pierre is a member of Societe Generale Group Management Committee since January 2011.
Pierre Palmieri is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Tours.

Thierry d’Argent is Co-Head of the Coverage and Investment Banking Division as of March 1st 2015.

He was formerly Global Head of Corporate Finance since April 2012. He joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 2009, as Managing Director and member of the M&A Executive Committee, and was Global Head of Merger and Acquisitions since 2010. Previously, he was Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, member of the J.P. Morgan’s European Advisory leadership core team and of the firm’s management committee in France. He started his career as a management consultant with Oliver Wyman in London and was deputy Cabinet Director in the Brussels Federal Government between 1991 and 1992. Then he worked at Barings, latterly as Director, in Paris. He joined J.P. Morgan in 1998. Between 2001 and 2008, Thierry headed J.P. Morgan’s French Mergers & Acquisition franchise.

Thierry d’Argent graduated summa cum laude from the Solvay Business School and the University of Brussels.

Sylvie Rémond is Co-Head of the Coverage and Investment Banking Division as of  March 1st  2015.

Previously she was Deputy Group Chief Risk Officer since January 2010.

She joined Societe Generale in 1985 and held different positions in the Individual Client Division and the Large Corporate Division. She was appointed to the Structured Finance Department in 1992, first in the Acquisition Financing team  and then in the Syndications group where she became co-head of the Corporate and Acquisition Finance syndication team in 2000. She joined the Risk Division in 2004 as co-head of credit risk for the Corporate and Investment Banking activity, before becoming Head in September 2008.

Sylvie Rémond is a graduate of ESC Rouen.

Frank Drouet is named Head of Global Markets in April 2016. He was previously Head of Global Markets for Asia Pacific since January 2012.

He joined Societe Generale Group in 1990, initially working in Basket Trading in Tokyo and then in Zurich as Equity Option Market Maker. He transferred to Paris in 1996 to take up the position of Head of Warrants Trading. He was appointed Head of Derivatives Trading, Hong Kong in 1997, then moved to Tokyo as Head of Equity Derivatives in Asia in 2003. From 2005, he took up the position of Head of Volatility Trading Europe in the Equity Derivatives division based in Paris. He went back to Asia in 2007 as Head of Equities & Derivatives based in Hong Kong, before becoming Deputy Head of Global Markets for Asia Pacific in 2009.
Frank Drouet is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale Lille and has a Master’s degree from HEC.

Christophe Leblanc has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services in february 2013. He was previously Chief Operating Officer of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, since January 2012.

Christophe Leblanc started his career within the Inspection services of Societe Generale Group, the internal auditing and consultancy unit reporting to the Chairman Office. In 1998, he was named Deputy Chief Financial Officer of SG Cowen in New York, when Societe Generale acquired the US Broker. In 2000, he became Chief Financial Officer of Societe Generale Americas. In 2001, he became Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking. In 2005, he joined the equity derivatives business as Head of Resources and Sales organisation. In 2007, he became Chief Operating Officer of the Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions division. Since 2009, he was Chief Operating Officer for Global Markets.

Hikaru Ogata was appointed Chief Executive Officer for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking Asia Pacific in 2010.

Prior to that he was as Global Head of Fixed Income Distribution and a member of the Fixed Income Executive Committee of BNP Paribas. Starting his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York within the Mergers & Acquisitions team, Mr. Ogata held positions in the fields of Foreign Exchange and Derivatives in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong before joining BNP Paribas, Hong Kong Branch in 1998. At BNP Paribas, he held several positions: firstly was Head of Derivatives Marketing Group, Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, then Head of the Japanese Fixed Income Sales, and was finally promoted Head of Japan Fixed Income business.

Slawomir Krupa is Chief Executive Officer for Societe Generale Americas as of January 1st 2016.
Prior to this, he was Deputy Head of Global Finance since 2012 and Chief Executive Officer for the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region since 2013.
Slawomir Krupa began his career in 1996 as an Inspector within Societe Generale’s Inspection department. He left the Group in 1999 to found and run an internet start-up in the field of e-finance in Eastern Europe. He rejoined the Group in 2002 and continued his work within Societe Generale’s Inspection department. He was appointed to the Management Committee of the department in 2005 and in 2007 he was appointed Chief of Staff for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking. In 2009, he became Head of Strategy & Corporate Development and CEO of Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking.

Sylvie Préa was appointed Global Head of Human Resources of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services in 2013. She was previously Global Head of Human Resources for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, since April 2012.

Sylvie Préa joined Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking in 1986. She has held a number of Front Office positions, in particular in the fields of international financing and trade, together with corporate sales responsibilities in the aeronautics sector. In 2003, Sylvie took on HR responsibilities, as Head of Human Resources at OPER, then at Corporate level as Head of Human Resources for the HR line in 2006. In October 2009, she was appointed Head of Human Resources of Global Investment Management and Services.
Sylvie Préa holds a postgraduate diploma in International Trade at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

In 2008, he headed the accounting and project departments moving on to become Deputy head then Head of the Product Control Department for market activities from 2010. Didier previously worked in fixed income trading and management consulting for financial institutions.

Sadia Ricke is appointed Group Country Head for the United Kingdom and Head of the Coverage & Investment Banking division in the United Kingdom as of 1 January 2017. She is a member of the Group Management Committee.

Sadia Ricke has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. She began her career at Societe Generale in 1994 in the Financial Institutions Credit department. She has more than 13 years of structured finance experience in the Natural Resources and Energy Finance division where she was Co-Deputy Head, a position she held until 2010. Sadia was Head of Credit Risk for SG CIB in Paris before moving to Hong Kong to take on the role of Head of Global Finance for Asia Pacific in January 2015.

Sadia graduated from HEC Paris (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales).

Lionel Paquin was appointed CEO of Lyxor Asset Management in February 2014.

He was previously the Head of Lyxor Managed Accounts Platform since 2011. He has also held the position of Chief Risk Officer and Head of Internal Control at the firm, and was a member of Lyxor Executive Committee since September 2007. Prior to this, Mr. Paquin has served as Managing Director and Principal Inspector of the "Inspection Générale" at the Societe Generale Group since June 2004. Mr. Paquin began his career in 1995 in the French Ministry of Finance as a high-ranking civil servant and held several positions within this Ministry.

Mr Lionel Paquin is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (1993) and ENSAE (1995).

Richard Paolantonacci was appointed Head of Scarce Resources of Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Securities Services in 2013. He was previously Head of Scarce Resources for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Bnaking, since April 2012.

He joined the Group in 1986, as a Salesperson for French Retail Banking, and Societe Generale’s Inspection (Internal Investigations) in 1988. Subsequently, he was appointed as Deputy Administrative Director, in charge of the Back Office function, Accounting and Management Control from 1993 to 1994 for Societe Generale Suisse (formerly Banque SOGENAL). In 1995, he is appointed Head of Markets. He joins the Equity Derivatives Trading department of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1996, where he becomes Administrative Manager in 2008 and Head of Equity Finance activities in 2009. Previously, he was Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, member of the J.P. Morgan’s European Advisory leadership core team and of the firm’s management committee in France. He started his career as a management consultant with Oliver Wyman in London and was deputy Cabinet Director in the Brussels Federal Government between 1991 and 1992. Then he worked at Barings, latterly as Director, in Paris. He joined J.P. Morgan in 1998. Between 2001 and 2008, Thierry headed J.P. Morgan’s French Mergers & Acquisition franchise.

She joined Societe Generale in 1985 and held different positions in the Individual Client Division and the Large Corporate Division. She was appointed to the Structured Finance Department in 1992, first in the Acquisition Financing team  and then in the Syndications group where she became co-head of the Corporate and Acquisition Finance syndication team in 2000. She joined the Risk Division in 2004 as co-head of credit risk for the Corporate and Investment Banking activity, before becoming Head in September 2008.

Federico Turegano began his career at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in Chicago in 1990 after 7 years at Continental Bank (now Bank of America) in Chicago and Miami.

Since joining Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, he has covered large corporate clients in the US, was Deputy Head of the Financial Engineering team in Paris, was responsible for  Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking’s Latin America network and was Deputy Head of the Corporates and Institutions Division for the Americas.

In 2007, he became Deputy Global Head of Natural Resources and Energy Financing as well as Head of the Energy Group for the Americas before being appointed Global Head of the business in 2008.

Terence Shanahan is appointed Global Head of Syndications, effective 1st October 2015. Previously, he was Deputy Head of Syndications since 2010. Terence Shanahan started his investment banking career as a member of the BNP Paribas Fixed Income Derivatives Group in 1987. In 1989 he became the Deputy Head of Private Placements and Structured Finance at BNP Paribas Capital Markets London. In 1993, he transferred to New York to set up Paribas' US Private Debt & Equity Placement Group. Then, Terence moved to Morgan Stanley London for three years a senior member of the Structured Financing Group. He joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in London in December 1997 as European Head of Credit Sales. He was appointed Head of Structured Credit Syndicate in 2002 and Head of Debt Capital Market Syndicate in 2006. Terence Shanahan has an MBA in International Finance from Schulich Business School, Canada and an Honours BSc in Actuaries and Applied Maths from the University of Toronto, Canada.

Frederic Surdon was named Head of Asset Finance in October 2015. Frederic Surdon was previously Global Head of Export Finance since 2013. He joined the real estate department of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1995 where he was involved in various structured financing and advisory transactions. In 2004, Frederic became Deputy Head for Continental Europe, then in 2006 Head for Continental Europe and the US of Asset-based Structured Finance. He first joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1989 and was assigned several positions in the Corporate Finance and Securitization activities over the last 15 years, including Head of the European Residential and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Group and Head of Securitization for the Americas. In 2008, Jérôme became Head of Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities Division for the Americas and then Deputy Head of the Global Markets Division for the region. He was appointed Co-Deputy Global Head of Natural Ressources and Energy Financing in 2010. Since 2015, Jérôme was Global Co-Head of Asset Backed Products.

Stephen Swift is Head of Global Finance for Asia Pacific with effect from 1st January 2017.

Stephen joined Societe Generale Group in London in 1987 before moving to Paris to launch the bank’s Continental European (ex-France) Leverage Finance activity. In 1997 he moved to Syndication firstly in Paris and then from 2006 based in London to run the European Loan Syndication business. During this time, Stephen was an active Board Member of the Loan Markets Association (LMA) in London. In 2008, Stephen was appointed Global Head of the bank’s Leveraged and Non Investment Grade Origination business with responsibility for LBOs and TMT Financing and a global mandate. In 2015, he was appointed Deputy Head of Global Syndicate with responsibility for the Bank’s loans and bonds businesses.

Richard Quessette was named Global Head of Equities and Equity Derivatives in 2015. He was previously Global Head of Cross Asset Solutions in 2012 since 2012 and Deputy Global Head of the Cross-Asset Solutions business in charge of Trading activities since 2009.

He started at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1995, working as a technical expert in the trading and pricing of exotic options. In 1998 he was placed in charge of the multi-underlying asset products range in Exotic Trading. In 2001, Richard was appointed Deputy Global Head of Exotic Trading in the Equity Derivatives division (exotic derivatives, alternative investment, mutual funds, hybrid products, etc.), responsible for Europe, US and Asia and subsequently became Head of Exotic Trading in 2004. In 2008, he was appointed Deputy Head of Global Trading within the Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions division.

In 2006 he becomes Deputy Head of Trading in Vanilla Derivates Indexes Single Stock Europe, he was then Head of Europe Equity Trading and appointed head of Global Equity Flow in 2013. Chris joined Newedge from Lehman Brothers / Nomura, where he spent five years as Co-Head of Prime Brokerage Sales.  Prior to Lehman Brothers, Chris worked for JP Morgan from 1993 to 2005 in a variety of senior roles, including Global Head of Electronic Trading Sales across Fixed Income, European Head of Fixed Income Prime Brokerage Sales and Head of European Clearing Sales.

Jonathan Withehead was appointed Global Head of Commodities Markets in April 2012. He was previously Deputy Global Head of Commodity Markets, since May 2011, at the time he joined SG CIB.

Jonathan has over 20 years experience in the Commodities markets, initially in the energy business, but more recently has managed broader Commodities businesses, encompassing Metals and Agricultural products. Jonathan started his career at Mobil in the Supply & Trading group, and has trading, origination and management experience with Barclays Capital, EDF Trading, Dynegy and Enron, and has worked in the UK, the US, Japan, Spain and France.
Jonathan graduated from Newcastle University with a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and has an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.

Marc El Asmar was appointed Head of Sales for Global Markets at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in April 2016. He was previously Deputy Head of Equities and Derivatives and Co-Head for Cross Asset Sales since 2015.

Marc began his career at Societe Generale in Paris in 1999, within Equity Derivatives Sales to the Middle East and North Africa. He was named Head of Sales, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2005 then Head of Structured & Listed Products Sales for Northern Europe, within the Equity Derivatives division in 2007. In 2012, he was appointed Global Head of Sales for Cross Asset Solutions then Global Head of Sales for Equities & Derivatives and Cross Asset Solutions in 2015.

Marc is a graduate of École Supérieure d'Aéronautique et d'Aérospatiale.

Marc Saffon was named Head of Engineering in May 2015. He was previously Head of Financial Engineering for the Cross-Asset Solutions business in Asia Pacific since 2010.

Marc started his career within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking’s Market Risk Department in 1992. He moved to the Capital Market Financial Engineering Team in 1997 and held various positions in Tokyo, New York and Hong Kong. Based in Hong Kong since 2007, Marc was appointed as Head of the Bank’s Cross Asset Solutions Group for Asia Pacific in 2010. Marc has extensive experience in working with both investors and borrowers to deliver financial solutions matching their unique needs.

Guillaume Buathier was named Global Head of Trading for Market activities in October 2015. Since August 2012, Guillaume was Head of Trading in the Americas and Global Deputy Head of Trading for MARK. Previous to that he was Head of the Market and Counterparty Risk Management team for 3 years. Guillaume joined Societe Generale in 1996 in Japan as an Exotic Equity Derivatives trader and subsequently headed the Asian Exotic Derivatives trading and the Japanese Equity Derivatives trading teams. Guillaume came to Paris at the end of 2001 and was responsible for Corporate, Semi-Exotics and Proprietary trading within the European Equity Volatility Flow business line. Guillaume is a graduate of Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

Brigitte Richard-Hidden is appointed Global Head of Societe Generale Cross Asset Research in October 2016. 
 
Brigitte Richard-Hidden joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1996, as a Managing Director in the Equity Capital Markets department. Since 2009, she was a senior banker in charge of the coverage of the bank’s key clients. She started her career in 1984 at CCF, as a financial analyst, then as a senior originator in Equity Capital Markets.
Brigitte Richard-Hidden is a graduate of the engineering school Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and is a SFAF member (French society of financial analysts).

François Barthelemy has been Head of the Markets in the Americas since July 2009. Previously, he was Head of Global Equities & Derivatives Solutions in the Americas since January 2007.

He first joined Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1990 as an Equity Derivatives trader in Paris. In 1992, he joined the Equity Derivatives Trading Group in New York and became Head of Trading for Equity Derivatives in 1996. In 2007, he was appointed Head of Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions in New York.
Barthelemy holds a master's degree in Engineering and Finance from École Centrale Paris.

Yann Garnier was appointed Head of Global Markets for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in Asia Pacific in April 2016. Previously, he was Deputy Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific since 2015 on top of his role as Head of Global Market Sales, Asia Pacific.

Yann joined Societe Generale in Paris in 1998 as an Equity Derivatives Marketer. He became Structured Products Sales in 2000, and was later appointed Head of Equity Derivatives Sales, Central Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa in 2007.
Yann relocated to Hong Kong in 2009 to become Head of Structured Products Sales, Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions for Asia Pacific. In July 2009, he was appointed Head of Sales for Cross Asset Solutions for Asia Pacific, additionally becoming Head of FI & Corporate Fixed Income and Currencies Flow Sales in 2011.

Yann graduated from EDHEC Business School, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Paris X University.

Jérôme Jacques was named Global Head of Asset Backed Products in June 2016.

He first joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1989 and was assigned several positions in the Corporate Finance and Securitization activities over the last 15 years, including Head of the European Residential and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Group and Head of Securitization for the Americas. In 2008, Jérôme became Head of Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities Division for the Americas and then Deputy Head of the Global Markets Division for the region. He was appointed Co-Deputy Global Head of Natural Ressources and Energy Financing in 2010. Since 2015, Jérôme was Global Co-Head of Asset Backed Products.

Jérôme Jacques graduated from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), and holds a Master in Accounting and a BA in Economics from the University La Sorbonne

Lionel Paquin was appointed CEO of Lyxor Asset Management in February 2014.

He was previously the Head of Lyxor Managed Accounts Platform since 2011.
